Rodrigo Peñailillo, Chile's Minister of the Interior, said on 20 September that he did not rule out the existence of more groups similar to the one that detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in a Santiago metro station on 8 September injuring 14 people.

Peñailillo was speaking as the investigation into the 8 September bombings continues: on 18 September, three suspects were arrested by the security forces in the southern city district of La Pintana, one of Santiago's poorest areas. Police investigators said after those arrests that they had found chemical residues linking the domicile in La Pintana with the bomb in Los Dominicos metro in Santiago's upscale Las Condes district.http://www.janes.com/article/43510/chilean-government-signals-possible-existence-of-other-ied-cells-as-santiago-bombing-investigation-focuses-on-city-outskirts
